When one of Steed's associates is murdered, Steed has only two clues, a wine list from Waller and Paignton's winestores, and a reference to a research establishment called Bridlingtons. Cathy is sent to Bridlingtons while Steed, on the pretext of buying a crate of wine, visits the shop. He notices waller's anxiety when frederick Paignton knocks over a pile of wine lists, and Steed surreptitiously removes a copy.
