Pursued by fishermen who use rod and line like whips, their hooks dipped in deadly poison, agent Stannard falls to his death, and when his body is later washed ashore, the New Avengers spring into action. Purdey and Steed follow Stannard's trail, while Gambit is delegated to stand in for the dead agent at a lecture being given by Von Claus.
