Season 3 19 The wringer Writer: Martin Woodhouse 18 January 1964 Steed is told by Head of Operations, Charles, that fellow agent Anderson has not returned from his last mission, investigating a series of mysterious deaths of agents on an escape route between Austria and Hungary. Steed's enquiries lead him to a fire-watching tower in Scotland. There he finds Anderson suffering from shock and unable to remember anything of the last six weeks. Anderson then produces a dossier on Steed and says he remembers now that he can prove that Steed caused the agents' deaths Anderson takes Steed back to Headquarters, where Charles finds enough evidence to convince him that Steed is a traitor.
